FOBS – You can make a difference

If you’d like to make a positive and enjoyable contribution to the school and its calendar of social events then we’d love to hear from you.

The Friends of Ballard School (FOBS) team comprises of both parents and staff who work together to raise funds for the school through social events.

We meet every four to six weeks to plan and manage our events.  We divide up responsibilities, big and small, to suit the members of the team.

We aim to do better every year – so if you think you can help make a difference please let us know.

How Can I Join Or Just Help Out?

There are two ways to be involved:

1.  You can join the committee and help to create and manage our fundraising events.  The committee meets every four to six weeks to review and plan FOBS events which are usually put together and co-ordinated by specific event teams e.g Summer Ball or Firework Night teams.

2. If you would like to be involved but on an ad-hoc basis why not put your name down on the FOBS helpers list.  This list comprises of  parents and staff who may be available to help out at the events and do anything from serving drinks to face-painting and lighting fireworks!

If you would like to be involved, you can:

  1. email FOBS at fobs@ballardschool.co.uk
  2. Leave your details at the main school office/FOBS pigeon hole
  3. Telephone the Chairperson, Natalie Timbrell on 01590 682628

FOBS Lottery

FOBS co-ordinates a monthly lottery which is open to all parents, staff, governors and ex parents of the school. FOBS retains half of the money raised and the other half is shared equally between three lucky winners randomly picked every month.

You can choose to spend £3, £5 or £10 per month.

How do I enter?

  1. Send an email to fobs@ballardschool.co.uk and we will send you the appropriate leaflet and standing order form
  2. Pick up a leaflet/standing order form from the main school office or from the pockets on the FOBS notice boards
