Science

Science is a subject relevant to everyday life.  It stimulates curiosity, interest and enjoyment.  At Ballard School pupils are encouraged to learn through practical experience and problem solving.

All pupils study Science up to Year 11 as part of the ‘core’ syllabus.

In September 2006 a new GCSE course commences for Year 10.  All pupils will study towards a Single Science GCSE. In Year 11 the majority of our students will w=then work towards a second coordinated ‘Additional Science’ GCSE.  Pupils in the top set in Year 11 will continue to study all those Sciences as separate subjects, gaining 3 Science GCSE’s.  Throughout the school subject specialists teach Science.
