UK MATHEMATICAL CHALLENGE,

Each year the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust organise a national mathematics competition for 11-18 year old pupils in the UK. The Maths Challenges are lively, intriguing multiple choice question papers, which are designed to stimulate interest in Maths. Last month Ballard School entered 46 pupils from years 9-11 into the competition. We are delighted to reveal that eight pupils achieved Silver certificates and a further eight achieved Bronze. In particular, special congratulations to AJ (yr11), GW (yr10) and CJ (yr9) who scored highest in their year group. Pupils from years 7-8 will be selected to take part in the Junior competition in April. Well done to all those who took part in the Intermediate competition and Good luck to all those competing later this year.
