What a treat for our Pre-Prep families our Pre-Prep Showcase was. Children from Nursery to Year 2 took to the stage in the Performing Arts Centre for a vibrant showcase of music, dance and gymnastics.
Pupils delighted the audience with a lively programme, demonstrating the skills they have developed throughout the year. Musical performances included a traditional Morris Dance, the percussion game Pass the Music, a parachute rendition of Over the Deep Blue Sea, and a drum and body percussion version of The Bare Necessities. The children proudly showcased their understanding of steady beat, rhythm and melodic singing, while sharing their enthusiasm for music-making.
The dance performance featured a wonderful rendition of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, including the much-loved songs Me Ol’ Bamboo and Truly Scrumptious, before the whole Pre-Prep came together for an energetic finale to David Bowie’s Let’s Dance.
Inspired by Toy Story, the gymnastics showcase highlighted the children’s confidence, creativity and teamwork. Set to music from the popular films, pupils demonstrated a range of skills including rolls, balances, cartwheels and handstands, celebrating the theme of friendship through movement.
