Designed to inspire a love of reading across the whole school, Ballard Reading Week takes a fresh approach by exploring how reading connects with every subject, not just English. The first-ever Reading Week is being led by the History Department and will take pupils on a fascinating journey through the history of Ballard School itself, uncovering hidden stories, intriguing facts and the rich heritage of the estate they walk around every day.
Hear how a passion for reading can unlock new interests and opportunities, and discover more about the exciting competitions, creative challenges and treasure-hunt-style activities that will take place throughout the week. The episode also features details of a special visit from local historian Nick Saunders, who will be sharing his knowledge of the New Forest and its role in both World Wars.
