Year 3 @ Ballard

A Remarkable School Journey

Entry into Year 3 at Ballard marks the start of a pupil’s journey into Lower Prep. From the very beginning, academic excellence meets holistic development in a nurturing environment and the school journey is anything but ordinary. Our school is committed to cultivating curious minds, fostering creativity, and preparing pupils for a future of limitless possibilities.

Our facilities are unparalleled. Lower Prep pupils have use of Ballard’s fantastic facilities and 34-acre site, including an Olympic astro, swimming pool, Performing Arts Centre, Junior Library, fully equipped Sports Hall and outdoor play areas, including the bluebell woods.

Throughout Lower Prep, there is an emphasis on foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy, and basic problem-solving, alongside the encouragement of positive social interactions, sharing and co-operation among peers.

Smaller class sizes and more individualised attention cater to the diverse needs of young learners, encouraging exploration of different subjects, whilst providing a solid foundation for their journey through the school. Pupils feel secure and happily stretch into new areas of discovery and exploration.

Exceptional pastoral care underpins the school journey. We believe in nurturing not only the academic, but also the artistic, athletic and social development of each pupil. Our diverse range of co-curricular activities, including over 175 clubs a week and educational trips, ensures that opportunities abound against a backdrop of emotional literacy. We aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning and equip pupils for life well beyond their journey at Ballard.
