Science Teacher (GCSE)

We are seeking a dynamic GCSE Science Teacher to join our multi-award-winning school this September. The full job description may be found here –

Science is a highly valued subject at Ballard with investment in new laboratories and a dedicated Science Technician as part of our team. Science Week is an annual highlight with lectures, workshops and lots of experiments to engage our pupils. This year we introduced Project Curiosity to the week as well as our annual Project Why. If you are passionate about being a GCSE Science Teacher and have secondary school experience (N.B. for NQT’s a placement will suffice), then please complete a Teaching Application Form, along with a letter of application, and send it, addressed to the Headmaster (recruitment@ballardschool.co.uk), to arrive no later than 9am on Tuesday 5th May 2026. Female PE Teacher – Maternity Cover (0.6 FTE)

We are seeking a dynamic PE Teacher to join our multi-award-winning school this September. This is a 0.6 FTE role, working Tuesday to Thursday.

Sport plays a central role in life at Ballard, with outstanding facilities, a strong competitive programme with a sport for all ethos and a wide range of enrichment opportunities. The PE Department is highly valued within the school and contributes significantly to pupil wellbeing, teamwork and confidence. Staff are expected to contribute fully to the co‑curricular programme, including offering two after‑school activities per week as part of this role.

LEAD PASTORAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT AND ATTENDANCE OFFICER (LPSA)

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Lead Pastoral Support Assistant and Attendance Officer to join the Pastoral Team at our multi-award-winning school.

This is a newly created, permanent role designed to strengthen pupil wellbeing, pastoral care and attendance across the School. The role is term time only, ideally around 30 hours per week spread over five days, with some flexibility, plus INSET days and a small number of Saturdays paid in addition.

If you are committed to securing the best possible wellbeing and outcomes for pupils, are organised, calm under pressure and confident working with children up to the age of 16, we would be delighted to hear from you. ELSA training is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.

Applicants are asked to complete a Support Staff Application Form, along with a letter of application addressed to the Deputy Head Pastoral, and send it to recruitment@ballardschool.co.uk. Applications should arrive no later than 9.00am on Monday 11th May 2026. Interviews will be arranged flexibly by mutual agreement. The start date is as soon as possible, and early applications are encouraged as we reserve the right to appoint before the closing date.
