Our Year 5 and 6 pupils were thrilled to be the first school invited by Southampton Football Club to experience their brand-new LEVEL1 space at St Mary’s Stadium. This innovative environment has been designed to combine personal development, education, and activity spaces, creating a unique learning experience that blends fun with meaningful learning.
The football club’s vision is to use this space to help children enjoy an educational as well as fun day, packed with multiple activities that encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience.
Our pupils took part in a series of engaging physical and mental challenges, all cleverly linked to different curriculum areas:
- On the climbing wall, pupils tackled language skills by translating or pronouncing French words before moving to the next hold.
- Up on the high ropes course, they answered science trivia questions on zoology.
- Back on the ground, pupils explored literacy with Word Scrabble on a Mini Golf course, held a mock press conference in the media room, and travelled the globe with a darts challenge focused on humanities.
This cross-curricular approach through sport made learning dynamic and memorable, reinforcing key skills in a creative and active way.
A huge thank you to Southampton Football Club for giving our pupils such an inspiring and enjoyable day at LEVEL1!
