Extra Curricular

Opportunities

In line with our ethos of offering an all-round, broad and enriching curriculum, Ballard endeavours to provide a holistic and wide variety of activities to broaden our pupils’ horizons even further. Whether it’s extra-curricular clubs, workshops, lectures, trips, or holiday camps, there are opportunities for all.

Benefits

The benefits of extra-curricular activities are well-publicised and it is great to see our pupils gain confidence trying new things outside of their friendship and year groups.

Choice

The diversity of clubs on offer is astonishing given our size but we believe in bespoke education. Giving pupils every opportunity to try, to explore, to push themselves is at the core of what we do. Many pupils select something out of their comfort zone knowing they are in a safe and trusted environment.

Trips

Trips feature strongly in school life at Ballard. All year groups experience extra-curricular trips throughout the year. There are ski trips, art trips, music trips and sports trips, family trips to distant shores and the ever-popular Y11 New York trip. We also have a dedicated Trips Week in July where pupils are able to attend educational or team- building trips.

So much choice – what would your child pick?

“It’s almost like a second curriculum! My son is completely immersed in STEM, it has completely captivated him and he’s become interested in how everything works and why it works. It’s fascinating.”

Ballard parent

“She does an extra Arts activity, junk modelling, after school and loves it. They work with laser cutters and put things together. She can’t wait to do it.”

Ballard parent

“The extra-curricular programme is a significant strength of the School. The range of activities are widely praised, and are valued in their own right. Overall, we have rarely encountered as well-regarded a co-curricular offering.”
