Ballard Holiday Camps

October 2019 Half-Term Camps – Friday, 25th October – Friday, 1st November inclusive.

Ballard Camps are open to everyone – a great way to spend the holidays; learning new skills and making new friends.

 

Friday 25th, October 9.00am – 4.00pm. Mad Science. Y3 -Y8.  Hair Raising Experience!
Power up mysterious machines and join us for an electrifying hair-raising experience. See indoor lightning and explore static science – the mad science way.

Monday, 28th October 9.00am – 4.00pm. Mad Science. Y3 – Y8. Seeing is Believing!
Discover ingenious illusions with some crazy mirror madness! This is the season to glow in the dark……be bright at night but what is that helps us to be seen? Time to have some phosphorescent and fluorescent fun as we catch shadows and create mysterious glowing liquids.

9.00am to 12.00noon  Beginners French  Y3 – Y6

1.00pm to 4.00pm   Beginners Spanish  Y3 – Y6

Tuesday, 29th October. 9.00am – 4.00pm. Junior, Senior and Art Camps.

  • Junior Camp – Sport and Gym and fun Maths. YR – Y3
  • Senior Camp – Sports and Gym and GymMathetics to stretch the brain. Y3 – Y8
  • Art Camp – Art Day Course. Y3 – Y8

Wednesday, 30th October. 9.00am – 4.00pm. Junior and Senior and Art Camps.

Friday, 1st November. 9.00am – 4.00pm. Mad Science. Y3 – Y8. Hubble Bubble Toil and Trouble!
Join us for potion school. Get those cauldrons and witches’ hats at the ready. Today’s the day for foamy fun and glorious gloop – perfect for this spooky season! Create colour-changing bubbling potions and our pumpkins are full of surprises!


Intensive 3 x half-day Bikeability – Level 2 Course

3 x half-days over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to have a chance of passing the theory and course.

Day 1 – Intensive Level 2 Bikeability. Y3 – Y8
Sessions: 9.00am – 10:30am or 11.00am – 12:30pm. Based at Ballard.
Cost: £20.00 per child, per session or £40.00 per child, per day (to include Bikeability session and then join in with Senior Sports or Art Camps).

Day 2 – Intensive Level 2 Bikeability. Y3 – Y8
Sessions: 9.00am – 12.00pm or 1.00pm – 4.00pm. Based off site on the local roads.
Cost: £40.00 per child, per session

Day 3 – Intensive Level 2 Bikeability. Y3 – Y8
Sessions: 9.00am – 12.00pm or 1.00pm – 4.00pm. Based off site on the local roads.
Cost: £40.00 per child, per session

* If cancelled due to the weather, a refund can be given if pupils do not want to stay for Senior Camp. Pupils must be able to ride a bike. Pupils need to provide own bike and helmet.

Day cost is £40.00 per child or £35.00 per child if booked by 16th October.

Day cost for Junior, Senior and Art camps is £40.00 per child or £35.00 per child if booked by 16th October.

We offer also a discount of £5.00 per child, per day for sibling bookings.

What times do the Camps run?

The camps run from 9.00am to 4.00pm for a full day or from 9.00am to 12.00pm for a half day.

Do you accommodate early drop-offs or late collections?

We can offer wrap-around care to suit you, charged at £10.00 per hour, by agreement, in advance. Please contact Justin.Whitbread@ballardschool.co.uk to discuss your requirements.

What do we need to bring on the day?

Please ensure your child is wearing suitable clothes for the activities they are involved in.

Please bring a packed lunch (no nuts please), healthy snacks and a water bottle.

If swimming, please pack a swimming costume, towel and goggles.

If cycling, please provide bike and helmet.

Do you accept Child Care vouchers?

Yes, we accept Child Care Vouchers. We are also registered with Bright Horizons and accept their voucher scheme.

Can I just book individual days?

Yes – you can book single days.

Do I have to be a Ballard pupil to be able to attend the Camps?

No, our Camps are open to everyone (subject to the age limits .

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

We offer a full refund for cancelled bookings received with at least 48 hours’ notice (from the start of the camp in question). Cancellations not received with 48 hours’ notice will not be refunded.

What happens if it’s pouring with rain?

We have the facilities to relocate activities to indoors, if required. We do recommend that you dress your child/children in appropriate clothing.
