Six-year-old Luca in Year 2 has taken on his own running challenge to raise hundreds of pounds for the NHS during the coronavirus crisis.

Luca initially hoped to raise £1500 for the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust by running 100 miles in April. He has smashed his fundraising target and at the time of writing, he has already raised £4,770, which is an incredible achievement.

Luca says he wants to help the NHS staff who are saving lives; “The coronavirus is killing people and I would like to help the people so they can stay healthy and safe.”

When he came up with the idea of running 100 miles, his parent’s didn’t think he was actually serious! But he has amazed us all with his incredible determination, especially for a 6-year old child. He is now smashing out 4 and 5 mile runs, which is truly incredible.
