Our School has a rich heritage, having once been a home to the Ubsdell family with many original Arts and Crafts features. Designed in the early 1900s, our main School building and grounds still retain typical period features from the day, despite having been a school and an army base.
Visitors will have a guided tour of the rooms and period features of the Arts and Crafts movement which include various Teale fireplaces and original Dressler and de Morgan tiles. Tours will be led by staff who have particular interest in the Great Ballard Estate, the Ubsdell family and local history. The dedicated Heritage Room includes photographs depicting the journey of Ballard from a country estate to a modern, thriving school. We would love to welcome you to unlock Ballard’s many hidden treasures.
