Congratulations to all our pupils form Years 1 to 6 who took part in the Primary Language Competition between 5th and 19th of February. With over 1,000 schools taking part, Ballard came 45th scoring nearly 13 million points!

We also had some stellar individual results with our top scorer, coming 65th in the whole country, with over 150,000 pupils taking part! Our top scoring pupil has lived in France, Ireland, and Italy as well as England, and loves languages.

Other notable performances came from our Year 6 pupils: who came 78th, 103rd and 146th. Well done everybody.

It was wonderful to hear that our Lower Prep pupils can speak 19 different languages including German, Mandarin, Korean, Czech, Russian, Bangladeshi, Japanese, Italian, Afrikaans, Welsh, Indonesian, Greek, Swahili, Romanian, Cantonese, Croatian, Hungarian, Zulu, Irish and Portuguese.

Well done also to our MFL department for helping our budding linguists.
