Congratulations to former Ballard School pupil and Head Boy, Matthew Aldridge (2012), who has been selected to represent Great Britain at this summer’s Paris Olympics, as part of the GB Rowing Team (pictured above, second in from the left).
Matthew rowed at Christchurch Rowing Club while at Ballard and became J16 National Champion in his last year at the school. He continued rowing at University making it onto the U23 GB team.
Matthew, now in the senior team, will be racing in the Coxless Four (think Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent), where he is the current World and European champion.
We wish Matthew the very best of luck at the upcoming Olympics.
