Tennis Strategy at Ballard

We have implemented a three-year plan to implement more Tennis at Ballard and to link with the local tennis clubs at Milford, Hayle Gardens and Lymington.

The first year plan has already started with Years 3 & 4 receiving expert coaching at Milford and participating in a racket festival.

We have also developed a Tennis Club as part of our after-school activity provision.

Years 1 & 2 are offered an after-school session with Ros Clark (Ex Ballard and Head Coach at Milford on Sea Tennis Club).

Years 3 & 4 have the opportunity to be entered in the U19 New Forest Grand Prix against Durlston, Walhampton and Ballard.

Years 5 & 6 enjoy Tennis in their PE lessons and have the opportunity to join the Tennis club in their after-school activity timetable.

Years 7 & 8 are offered the chance to attend the Milford Tennis club (Transported by minibus) in their PE time.

Years 9 – 11 are welcome to play at any time after school in pairs.

The School has invested in new rackets, swing ball sets and different ability Tennis balls so that Years 3 – 5 can play at break and lunch.
