Freddie and Ella’s Story

Freddie (Reception) and Ella (Year 3)

As told by their Mummy:

“Freddie was apprehensive about attending school five days a week, so I have been absolutely delighted he has settled in so quickly and how much he is enjoying it. I have been astonished at his progression in reading during a short space of time. The class topics have enthralled him, and he frequently shares what he has been learning at home with excitement. A highlight of his time so far has been going to Beach School and swimming. Alongside academic development, Ballard offers many opportunities for pupils to develop skills in the arts and sports with specialist teachers even at this age. He especially enjoys his weekly music, dance and gymnastics lessons.

As children move through Ballard, the opportunities continue to increase, Freddie’s older sister, Ella, is in Year 3 after a wonderful Pre-Prep journey where she grew socially as well as academically. She is now thoroughly enjoying school life in Lower Prep with new challenges and exciting possibilities.

Ballard’s nurturing and bespoke environment is helping Freddie and Ella to reach their own full potential and has already instilled a love of learning in them both, which I hope will stay with them for life.

Sister Ella has always been eager to learn and Ballard provides her with abundant opportunities to fulfil her academic potential. In Pre-Prep, she was invited to join the Lower Prep “Reasoning” club. She loved the puzzles and challenges and made friends with older children. It’s lovely to see them smiling and saying hello to her at events.

Now settled into Lower Prep, she is benefiting from the bespoke learning approach in classes as well as tailored homework and spellings. Ella enjoys the wide range of subjects, favourites include Food Technology, ICT, French, Humanities and Science. Her after school activity options are vast with several sports, music, language, art, games, and interesting clubs available Ella’s favourites include clayworks, netball, yoga and Eco Club. Another highlight was visiting the Natural History Museum then watching Frozen the Musical, which has whetted her appetite for a role in the School’s production of Frozen Junior this term!”
