Mr Maskell and Dr Shaw took two Year 8 teams to the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s STEM Faraday Challenge. Tasked with developing an idea to assist with the operation, maintenance and control of the James Webb Telescope, the teams worked independently to scope and assess ideas, specify and source building materials from a fixed budget, carry our health and safety risk assessments and build a working prototype.

Our pupils were commended for their collaboration and team work and for incorporating a range of workable ideas into their final solution.
