Pupils in Years 6 – 10 have been writing letters as part of their PSHE lessons to support the many older, vulnerable people across the city who are lonely and isolated. This is part of Age UK Southampton’s ‘From Me to You’ initiative.

Most of what we get through the letterbox these days is bills and junk mail. So receiving a handwritten letter is a rare joy.

The pupils have really enjoyed taking part in this project and we hope these letters can bring some joy to those isolated at this difficult time.

Claire, Age UK: “Wow! The letters are amazing and certainly made me smile (and shed a tear.) I’m sure each and every one will make a difference and bring joy to those who receive them. You certainly have thoughtful, creative and loving pupils. Please pass on a huge thank you to all of the pupils who took part, this really will make a difference!”

Ballard Alumni parent: “What imaginative, thoughtful, creative and downright wonderful youngsters they all are…helping the elderly in these difficult times.”
