We are celebrating another successful year of GCSE results despite the impact of the pandemic, with 100% of pupils achieving at least five GCSE passes graded 9-4 (including Maths and English) and 40% of results being grade 7 or above. Within this strong set of grades were some stand-out achievements; four Ballard pupils achieved 10 grades of 7 and above, and one pupil was awarded six 9s and four 8s.

“This has been an incredibly tough year for Ballard’s Year 11s, so the fact they have achieved these fantastic results is testament to their resilience and fortitude. Our young people have had to be adaptable, whilst remaining positive and focused through incredibly uncertain and challenging times.“Not only have they achieved a set of well-deserved and hard-earned grades, they have developed character, skills and a level of determination that will serve them well as they leave Ballard. They did not have it easy, sitting three sets of robust mock examinations. Our staff take great credit for the manner in which they taught, challenged and supported our pupils both academically and pastorally over the past two years.

Ballard leavers have benefitted from being members of such a supportive and caring family, and our aim to foster a drive to “be the best that you can be” has truly come to fruition here. We should be rightly proud that all of our pupils have achieved at least five 9 to 4 grades, including 100% of students passing Maths & English, and that around 40% of Ballard’s results were grade 7 or above.”
